High-End Professional Aerial Imagery – One of DJI’s most powerful aerial cameras, the Zenmuse X5S is precisely engineered to deliver superb results for a wide variety of aerial photography and videography applications. Equipped with a 20.8-megapixel Micro 4/3 CMOS sensor, the X5S offers a high dynamic range of 12.8 stops, allowing it to effectively handle high-contrast scenes and capture images and videos that retain rich detail in all areas of the image. Along with a significantly improved the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and enhanced color sensitivity, the X5S produces sharp, low-noise imagery in various lighting situations, including low-light conditions.
In addition to its impressive photography capabilities, the superior video resolution of the X5S makes it a highly effective aerial tool for professional filmmakers. With the integrated CineCore 2.0 image processing system on the Inspire 2, it can record movie-quality videos in 5.2K CinemaDNG and Apple ProRes, as well as 4K video in H.264 and H.265 (both at a bitrate of up to 100Mbps).

Key features of the DJI Zenmuse X5S:

  • Improved Micro 4/3 Sensor – 20.8 MP, 3.4μm pixel size, 12.8 stops of dynamic range, and a better signal-to-noise ratio and color sensitivity means high-quality, low-noise images, even in low light conditions.

  • Array of Compatible Lenses – Supports up to 8 professional lenses with focal lengths from 9mm-45mm (equivalent to 18mm-90mm on a 35mm camera), for more creative control over the final look of shots.

  • Hollywood-Grade Video – Uses CineCore 2.0 to record video at maximum resolution of 5.2K/30fps in CinemaDNG 12bit, 5.2K 30fps Apple ProRes 422 HQ and 4K 30fps Apple ProRes 4444 XQ (no alpha). Additional recording options include video in 4K/60fps using H.264 or oversampling video in 4K/30fps using H.264/H.265, both with a bitrate of 100Mbps.

  • Fast, Efficient Workflows – The DJI CINESSD card (PCIe3.0 NVMe SSD support) and a highly optimized FAT32/exFAT file system, allows footage to be transferred directly through the DJI CINESSD STATION card reader to a computer at high speeds without any additional software. Footage also supports the DIT standard. CinemaDNG or Apple ProRes workflows can be used for post-processing.

  • Lossless In-Video Single and Burst Photo Capture– 20.8 MP stills can be captured at 14fps in Burst Mode in JPEG+DNG. Using the DJI CINESSD opens up 20fps continuous DNG Burst Mode with maximum image resolution of 20.8 MP. Stills can also be taken during video recording without interruption.

  • Enhanced Camera Stabilization– The X5S is stabilized by a 3-axis gimbal with pinpoint-precise motor rotation. Its unique design helps eliminate vibration and ensure stable data transmission and greater durability for creating seamlessly smooth video.

  • Long-Range Camera and Focus Control– Take control over every camera setting from afar, including focus, aperture, and format, all in the DJI GO 4 app. No additional cables or motors are needed and signals can be sent as far as 4.3mi (7km) away.

The DJI Zenmuse X5S was designed to meet the increasingly demanding rigors of high-end professional aerial photography and videography applications.
